About

Mehdi El-Radhi is the director of ME Construction. He has over 20 years experience within the Architectural and Green building sectors and has spent the last 16 working on new build and retrofit projects in Wales. He was one of the design team who created the award winning straw bale building in St. Dogmaels, Pembrokeshire in 1996, he personally rammed the earth walls at the Information Centre at the Centre for Alternative Technology in 1999 and built the first house completed at the landmark AVAG self build site in St. Werburgh's, Bristol in 2003.

In the last ten years Mehdi has built up a team of sub-contractors specialising in roofing, limework and hempcrete, carpentry and high quality cabinetry and joinery, heavy post and beam framing and stonework. Recent projects include the construction management of a high tech bespoke kitchen in oak and steel and the reroofing and substantial repair of a grade II listed farmhouse. Mehdi's team are experienced at re-building ancient roofs in such a way that the historic curves and lines don't get straightened out in the repair, losing character and compromising the building's listing. He is an accredited City and Guilds trainer and assessor for roofing services.
